Gents,
Logmein is good - HOWEVER don't use the PRO version as it replaces the end soundcard with a virtual driver, thus stealing it away from Myriad Mid-flow and this can cause awful problems. We have not yet found a way to disable this in their paid for product.
This problem can also happen with RDP, you need to be carefull when setting up the connection properties. As has been noted above, you'll need to log on as the same user that is already logged in, and that then will lock the screen to the local user, so you won't be able to show someone what's happening (as is useful for technical support).
VNC is fine and shouldn't cause too many problems, however it is open source and there are several implementations, as with all of these things you need to make sure you are on the most up to date version as vunerabilities in security can be much easier to exploit on open source software.
Dameware - we have been using for a number of years and is onto version 7 - couple of little niggles with this latest version and Windows 7, but does have file transfer and remote control - this is a paid for product.
Teamviewer, gotomypc, gotoassist etc all have their pros and cons - we haven't been able to evaluate in depth the impact on all of these options.
Hope this helps.
