We have just installed Myriad 4 to replace our ageing 2.6, and are having some MAJOR issues with top of hours.
randomly it seems , it will either stop going into an absolute time marker or out of one…Myriad is still running, but frozen..no play or go commands work..
A myriad restart does NOT fix it, only complete Pc restart .
has anyone seen this or have any ideas what is happening?
it is ONLY in auto fade hours, and there is nothing odd about those particular clocks, as the times are random and the only commonality is top of hours, but not EVERY one! .
We are onto support about it, but this seems to be also perplexing them, and its obviously a serious problem for us, as it brings the output to a halt until somebody happens to spot it
Its generally when nobody is there, hence being in auto fade mode for those programmes.
Any ideas MUCH appreciated
Its windows 7 32 on brand new dell machine….

Thanks !

Hi bill,

If you're having to restart the whole PC then its either hardware or windows - my first guess would be soundcard as thats about the only thing not doing anything when its stopped waiting for a time.

What soundcard are you using?  Might be worth checking to see if there are any updated drivers from the manufacturers website.

Hi Peter

Its an M audio Fasttrack Ultra 8R …all drivers are up to date, and we have the same card and machine in Prod , no problems.
i really don't suspect the card as it is ALWAYS in or out of an absolute time marker in Autofade only..
A card issue would not be that specific in my view…
It is picking on absolute time  markers, and Im afraid that points to Myriad.
When I say it needs a machine restart, thats not strictly true, as after a myriad close, the Myriad process is still running but frozen, so we have just been restarting rather than buggering about killing processes…
again I believe its not a windows issue

Thanks for the input..all gratefully received!

The devils in the detail :-) if anyone notes that a PC locks up we have to lean to the PC itself, but if killing the process sorts it then we have something we can work on!

Which release of myriad 4 is it?  Also I'd suggest turning on debug mode (put /debug on the command line) as those logs will be invaluable for support

Indeed Peter :-)
the pc does not lock up…myriad does..latest release 4.0.18
debug is already on , and I have been in communication with P squared tech support many times.....
just putting it out here to see if any users had similar issues…
I have debug logs available but this weekend, 4 stops is 4 too many for a mission critical playout  system …

i do appreciate your input , believe me  !!
