Extending the radio clocks cable was a trick that a lot of stations used to do a while back. Mercury down in Crawley extended by about 10 metres to a waterproof sealed box on the outside of the building as this gave them the best signal. They also wired in a "wall-wart" to power it as having to climb up the side of the building to change the batteries was a bit of a pain! The longest extensions that I know of are University Radio Hull who extended by about 25 metres (and claimed that it was still reliable) and Lite AM in Manchester (RIP) that extended to the top of the metalised glass office building they were in - probably a similar distance. Thats not to say it's guaranteed to work, but it doesn't hurt to try as the cable would be quite cheap from Maplin
