Question:
We have 3 instances of myriad connecting via a network and server, If we delete a cart or numerous carts from the audiowall
where do the deleted files go?

I know the answer but wondered where everyone else thinks..

By any chance would it be the recycle bin on the server causing 100GB of old rubbish to clutter up your server?

Many thanks,
Martin Brown.

Martin Your cheated but its the correct answer !!

ALL the deleted stuff from Myriad does indeed fil up the recycle bin on your server,
Don't forget to check it every now and then.....It does need emptying.

Hi Paul,

I'm more than a little confused by this as Myriad does not move items to the windows recycle bin it deletes them permanently from windows either locallyfrom the hard disk or from a network share.

Could you let me know more about your setup please?

Thanks,

John

We have a server running microsoft server 2008 and 3 computers connected to it, all running myriad,
our server holds the audiowall data.

I noticed this a few months ago when i glanced at the drive sizes, we have 2 x 1TB, which mirror each other
drive 1 was 650 GIG full
drive 2 was 450 GIg full.

I thought this was very strange so decided to find out where the difference was.

put the 2 drives side by side in windows explorer and no difference in files etc, except a few setup fies, but nothing big.

I opened the recycle bin to find thats where the extra files were.

The server is used as a server thereis nothing being deleted from it by any users, so we can only assume its myriads deleted objects.

Now I check the recycle bin weekly to find it has items in it which have come from myriad

I'll point this topic towards our techy helper and I'm sure he will add any points I may have missed.

Paul is right, for some reason when something is deleted from Myriad it ends up in the recycle bin on the server.

The server is running Windows 2008 R2 (64 Bit) with 2Gb of RAM, 2 x 1Tb HDD's which are mirrored using ViceVersa.

The strange thing is, this has only started happening in the last 5 or 6 months I think. (we moved to Server 2008 R2 around 11 months ago, prior to this it was a Server 2003 system)

As far as I can see, this only happens with Myriad, if I delete something from one of the other shared folders, its gets deleted totally.

Just a quick update, as well as all deleted audiowall files being stored in the recycle bin,
we also have all the old AUTOTRCK\DATABASEV3\LOGS\
plus Remote Edit Server\Cache whihc are all wma files.
