Yeah, we sorted it thanks, a simple right click to the front of the file in the schedule works a teat every time now !
PLUS the news is always on time.

paul, the absolute time marker will only kick in if you have the shopw set as autofade rather than auto or live.

Something to add quickly. If you have the show is more than two parts, say for example for an advert break(s). Make sure only the last part that is to run into the news is set as song. If you set the other parts as song then it is likely to try and evenly chop the parts so if your recorded presenter does a link into the adverts, it may get faded.

Definitely something to watch! As an alternave though, if you are using AutoTrack Pro you can mark the first segment to be not-droppable and not-fadeable which will also stop it.

We found this with some of our prerecorded content.

Just so it is in isolation from the abouve post...

The key is when droping audio into the log from the audiowall it will always show as a cart, by right clicking on the far left handside of the item in the log to change the audio to 'song', Myraid will then treat this audio, what ever it is, as a 'song' and therefore fade it to time with absolute time markers.

We too have several programmes that are pre-recorded but are manaully schedule (tweaked), one is recorded as three 18min blocks to allow for ads, the others are 58min shows with ads included (one's recorded 7 days before TX, while the others during the day of play). Each programme has a fadable track at the end and using absolute time markers to control the log it appears in it fades to time perfectly.

Here's a sample log:

ABTime 21:02:02:50

Newslink Ad (15sec)

Station ID (5 sec)

The Wayland Jazz Hour (58:00 (setup as a 'song' and fadable))

ABTime 21:59:40:00 (This fades the previous item to start the news jingle on time at this time).

Station New Run Up Jinlge (20sec)

HWD Command 17 (IRN/Sky)

The templates for these shows are schedule in autotracks and the team record using the log for the time of transmission and drop the programme into the space in the log ready for TX.

Hope this helps.

Roger.

Yes, it's not that difficult, we have numerous shows on autotrack as single cart shows and Myriad just fades them at the end to fit the time.  You can make it sound even better by getting the presenter to record a short generic "goodbye and here's the news" and add that to the running order to play after the main show.  As long as the show itself has a song that is fadeable as the final song, then it all sounds fine.
