Running v 3.5.15

We are about to start using split cart groups, I have defined and named the groups on the split players, but when I try to insert a group in the log all split groups in the drop-down list are  shown as <unknown>.

How do I get the drop-down list populated with the group names?

The documentation says the names come from the master, but I can't find where.

Hi Neil,

First off - v3.5.15 of Myriad Network seems very old, you might want to get yourself up to v3.6.2 - especially if the Studios are on v3.6 of Myriad, there was probably a lot of changes in the communication layer between v3.5 & v3.6.

Call the office for the download username and password.

You should upgrade all the networks at the same time.

Dave,

All machines are 3.5.15. Studios, Split Players and Network Master.

Upgrading would be a big job.

Just need to know how to populate the drop-down list.

Hi Neil,

In v3.5 you only get the Split Group names in the "on-air" studio (as it's read in realtime from Myriad Network (or STS) ). In AutoTrack Clocks you do it by specifying the Cart Group number (as it can't see the split names either)

In v3.6 we changed it so that the latest info from the Splits is stored in the Station Databases so that any Myriad Playout can then see the names when editing the log, however in AutoTrack you still only see the Cart Group numbers themselves.

In v4 it's all fully integrated so you see the names on any Myriad Playout or in Myriad AutoTrack.

In terms of upgrading, going from v3.5 to v3.6 is relatively painless, though of course if you aren't having any problems or don't need to upgrade then by all means stick where you're comfortable Smile

Peter,

The On-air machine does not pick up the split group names.

I will contact you about upgrading.

HI Neil,

Just a quick one - had you added Carts to each of the split groups on all splits on both split boxes? Unless they have 'durations' - e.g. at least some valid carts assigned to the splits - then Network master ignores these and won't learn the details to then pass up to Myriad.

Finally sorted, with thanks to Andrew.

It was Network Master that was messing things up.

Thankfully we have gone from 8 splits to 4, so getting the on-air machine to talk directly to the splits player, rather than Network Master, fixed everything.

Will definitely look into upgrading ASAP.
