Do you need to know anything about the VOIP network you are plugging into (settings etc)? Can you just unplug the VOIP phone from the 'wall socket', plug in the adaptor, plug in the analogue fax machine (or Comrex) and be in business? I'm hoping it would be possible to turn up at an OB site, find an IP phone that uses the internal company network, plugin the adaptor instead of the phone, phone the BT studio number from the Comrex and connect to the Comrex at the studio. However, you could setup a sip account from an online provider like voip.co.uk and then as long as you have a good internet connection you will connect that way each time from anywhere on earth. ------------ Peter Jarrett, Technical Director Broadcast Radio Ltd. Forum Sage Group: Forum Members Posts: 4, Visits: 25	Does anyone have any experience with getting one of these ATA's (in our case the Cisco SPA112 - the replacement for the linksys PAP2) with the P-Squared SR2 telephone line in. We have a VOIP telephone system so do not have any analogue lines to go directly into the desk and our radio guys are wanting to take calls into the desk during radio interviews. We decided to try the above adapter as we have around 5 others in use on site with analogue lift phones and they work fine. However we cannot get it working with the desk, the unit is configured as you can plug an analogue telephone into it and receive calls but when plugged in to the desk nothing happens. All I have been told by support is they only support a dedicated BT analogue line but the adapter is presenting itself as an analogue line. Just wondered if anyone else has come across this and got it working before. We can't be the only place in the world on a VOIP telephone system. Wasn't sure if the desk used a different dial tone or some other config we may need to change? Cheers 249

Forum Sage Group: Forum Members Posts: 4, Visits: 25	Hi Liam I haven't i've been testing the adapter on my desk this afternoon to double check it was all set up correctly which it seems to be. I'll take it all back over to the radio room Monday and plug it all back in to the desk and plug an analogue handset into the handset port on the back of the desk and let you know how it goes. It was a job trying to find an analogue handset! luckily someone had one hidden away. Regards James 242

Basically there is no handset or telephone equipment in the SRM, it is a pass through but with the audio lifted onto the SRM bus so you need to plug in a handset, when you ring the number, the handset will ring (and you can dial out) but then make sure the SRM is in telephone mode and press the button at the base of the channel and you should now be able to talk to the phone caller via Mic 1 and hear the caller via the telephone fader. You can also listen to them pre-fader using the prefade button but be aware that this also route mic 1 to the call for talkback purposes. Forum Sage Group: Forum Members Posts: 4, Visits: 25	Hi Liam Many thanks for your help with this one I've tested it all this morning and can confirm it all works fine. We can receive calls through to the phone and through the desk. The radio guys have tested all their parts so can take the calls through the handset and mic and do all the recording in to a cart etc. So for anyone else's info that may have the same/similar setup as us you can get telephone calls through to the studio desk without a dedicated BT analogue line. For a bit of info we have an Avaya IP phone system and have managed to do this so it is possible. Regards James 211
