Hello!

We currently have Myriad v4 set up with a single database (On a dedicated server). We would like to set up a second server as a backup to this. Ideally, this server would replicate the main one and be selectable in Myriad in the case that server 1 failed.

Is this possible? I can't seem to find any information anywhere on how this would work.

Thanks,

I don't look after the underlying SQL servers, but from memory/conversations in the past the free version of SQL doesn't really offer an easy backup solution.

So long as you are a registered charity you can get the full SQL server with replication etc reasonably cheaply from CT exchange http://www.ctxchange.org/.

Thanks for your reply.

Funnily enough i'm just in the middle of registering with ctxchange.

Im ok (Ish) with the sql server stuff itself, The bit I need to find out is how myriad deals a backup server.

Thank you!

Myriad can't backup itself, unlike the old V3 where Autotrack could be made to create database backups.  It has to be done with SQL.
