Hello all,

We're just released updates to the Myriad Family in the form of Myriad v4.0.17 Beta Release.

This has quite a few new features, but also includes some general improvements and fixes.

The biggest new features are that SmoothStream Extended is now used by default on Windows 7 and higher, and setting up a connection to SQL Server is now much simpler.

Some of the other top level new features are:
  • 64 Categories in both AudioWall and AutoTrack
  • Playout Admin Licenses can now SegEdit
  • New SQL Connection window used throughout so much easier to connect to SQL Server
  • SMX Enabled by default  - Windows 7 and 8 users will now use SMX by default, in particular this is really good news for RVT users as they get proper fading previews when editing segedits.
  • Selectable Peak or RMS normalisation in the Import Wizard and the Autoimporter you can now select to override the default Normalisation type to force Peak or RMS normalisation.
  • Configurable Peak or RMS Normalisation on Cart Ranges in AudioWall Settings means you can now set different ranges of your AudioWall to default to different normalisation types and Levels – e.g. Links 1-1000 might be Peak normalised, whilst Songs in 3000-8000  might be RMS normalised.
  • AutoTrack automatic database setup runs whenever you open an empty database – it will create template categories, a template clock and assignments, Rules Sets and even import all of your songs and links direct into the Database and do a test schedule.
  • Tweet directly from Myriad and from the Scheduled log means you can manually add Social Messages to the Log and also schedule from AutoTrack. This requires OCP Pro to be able to post the messages to twitter.
  • Tweet Now Playing info built in to OCP Pro instead of using the now retired separate P Squared Twitter application
  • Dual Screen Vertical mode – if you have a wide screen monitor and rotate it vertically you now get Log at the top and AudioWall at the bottom.
There are loads of other changes included as well so more details can be found by reviewing the "Update Information" next to each download link on the http://www.psquared.net/technical-support/product-support/myriad-support/myriad-4-support/downloads.aspx page.

Important: This is likely to be the last release of Myriad Playout v4 that supports the older JET format database files, future releases will only support working with SQL Express or SQL Server based databases. Myriad AutoTrack v4 has only ever been available for SQL based databases, so this only affects you if you have not been using AutoTrack and chose not to use SQL based storage. For information on how to install and configure Myriad to use SQL databases please have a read of http://forum.psquared.net/6244//Installing-and-Configuring-Microsoft-SQL-Server-for-Myriad-v4?Keywords=sql%20server and also watch the videos on our Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3CEFE18AC2BC6062

Please also remember that this is currently a Beta version and is not support by the main Technical Support Team except by prior arrangement.

If you don't have a username and password to download these new releases please contact your account manager or email sales@psquared.net

Happy friday everyone - we've just released a refresh of Myriad Playout, AutoTrack and OCP v4.0.17 which fixes a couple of minor bug-ettes, but also adds a pretty major new addition:

OCP+ can now post to Facebook as well as Twitter!

Exactly the same as the existing Twitter integration, you can either post single Social Messages selectively to Facebook, Twitter or both, you can also now add a Facebook output that will post Now Playing information direct to your Facebook Wall

We can't wait to see how people start using this, so please post in the Myriad Product forum area and let us know how you get on with it

Very quick follow up - the Myriad OCP v4.0.17 release has been refreshed just to fix a minor problem with not being able to include <OCP_.... tags in the files that you can include in Social Media postings!

We have just refreshed the AudioWall Auto-Importer to fix a problem where couldn't renew the License - clicking the License Details menu option would cause AI to exit.

To install the update, just uninstall the old AutoImporter, and then download and install the new release. Please make sure that if you are running other Myriad v4 programs that you have also updated these to the v4.0.17 release as well.

We have also just released a refresh of the main Myriad Playout installer which includes an updated version of the Log Importer that resolves a problem with importing Advert Log References (e.g. Broadnet IEL numbers). Unless you use this feature there is no need to install this update.
