Hi There,

Hoping someone can help with the following scenario: -

We have 1 Myriad system that is on-air and another for admin and scheduling purposes. However when adding logs in the log window on the scheduling PC it doesn't automatically update on the live PC. We know they are both using the same database as when I switch the 'on-air' PC's log on and off it then appears.

I was wondering if Myriad should automatically update the logs on both PC's and if so could you please help with what settings I should be using.

Cheers

Radioactive,

if both copies of Myriad are looking at the same Station Database, then it's as simple as scrolling up or down the log to see the changes, as the log only refreshes when a user scrolls around, or if it's doing something by itself (like playing out, and segueing between items).

Hi David,

Thanks for the quick response! Sorry if I'm asking the obvious here but lets say we don't scroll up or down and the system is left to play overnight. Therefore even though the 'on-air' PC is still showing an out of date log (i.e. screen is not refreshed) - will it still automatically play the next added hour from the scheduling PC?

Cheers

Darren,

no problem.

If you have a PC running the log in automation (lets say in your racks room), it will be refreshing the view everytime it does a segue, so when you come in in the morning it will be showing you the currently playing item.

If you then walk into the studio (where you have another copy of Myriad), that will still show the position in the log of where it was left last night, if you press "home" on the log it will take you to the currently playing item on the Auto PC.

Your Programme Controller has another copy of Myriad on his desk, he has the user rights to change the items in the current hour, he adds a few things in. If you look at the automation PC these will show up once it segues into the next item (refreshing the view). In your studio, you'll need to scroll up or down the log or press the "home", refreshing the view to see them, this is becuase your PC in the studio is not playing the log, and therefore not automatically updating the screen every segue.

Hope this helps.
