Does anyone know how to get Myriad working with the M-Audio Profire 610 under Windows 7. Myriad only sees the same driver and subsequently the same outputs when setting up 4 carts to different outputs. Have set the driver to Multi out and it works fine under windows test - each part going to the separate outs so it's not Windows at fault unless of course it doesn't let you see it as separate outs.

Please help otherwise we'll have to go back to Windows XP and older system on a brand new PC!! or change the interface which is a brilliant system normal (ie on a Mac - they just work no idea why you don't have a OS X version of Myriad so much better!!!).

Thanks for any assistance

Thanks for your quick reply but I have downloaded the Windows 7 drivers because the disk that came with the device didn't have them anyway!!

And these drivers are from 2009 as stipulated on M-Audios website so far there are no 2010 or subsequently 2011 versions - the beta update was just to fix the install wrapper not do anything with the drivers themselves.

Thanks anyway

Robin,

It is impossible for us to test all soundcard permutations, so we have to prioritise which interfaces we can test.

Although we have used other M-Audio interfaces, we have never used any of their firewire versions, therefore we will be unable to see if the drivers conform to the standard Windows API calls, which Myriad requires.

I'm sorry to say there are no plans for a version of Myriad on the Mac OS.

Thank you for your reply David much appreciated. It was with tongue in cheek I made the comment about OS X but hey you never know after all Adobe are releasing Audition for the Mac and that is our main audio workflow here.

I understand you can't test all of them and to be fair I think it's more likely to be M-Audio is at fault with a lack of updated drivers. However All DAW systems use the ASIO standard but you don't any particular reason is it licensing or fundamental audio engine issues?

Hi Robin,

We did do a bit of prototyping with ASIO a few years ago as it would have widened the choice of soundcards available.

Unfortunately it would have required a LOT of work to get it up to the level we would need of it and then Windows 7 came along and largely included all the advantages anyway meaning that we sadly wouldn't have seen any real benefits to all the work.

We have just tried the XP drivers for the Profire and it's the exact same problem so we can't even roll back the machine to Windows XP and hope it fixes the issue. However as a test we installed Abbleton Live and hey surprise surprise you have a choice of ASIO or MME/DX drivers and the ASIO drivers see all the inputs and outputs and patch accordingly grrr. So the issue is strongly down to M-Audios drivers are restrictive. Therefore We only have one option and that is to find a replacement interface with discreet outputs under MME/DX, WDM to work with Myriad.

Thanks for all your replies
