Hi,

Ok well the first thing you need to do is Windows Update and reboot.

You do know that RAID0 will not protect you from a drive failure? We would always recommend a RAID1 configuration, using Raid Edition Hard Drives - for more information check out this article:

Hi David

Quite a few things to check out, many thanks. So in response:

when did you last apply Windows Updates / reboot the server?
** Few months ago

Do you have RAID mirrored Hard Drives? Are they both still operating correctly or do you have a drive failure or is it rebuilding the array?
RAID 0, both drives in order

When was the last time you defragmented the server drives?
Fragmentation <1% so none actioned.

How much free disk space does the server have on it's Windows Drive? Has it run out of space to run the operating system happily?
Approx 165GB Free

Check in Windows Task Viewer, is something hogging all resources on the server?
Nothing untoward.

Have you added any new PC's to the network? Is there more network traffic that could be causing a slowdown?
Only replacements, so no additional traffic.

Where are you searching? if it is the "find" on the audiowall, then it is looking through the cart list files on the server.
Correct

If there a lot of audio above 10,000 then the single file that holds this information can be slower to search through.
Around 4500 audio files which should not be an issue.

If you are searching in the database tab, then yes a compact / repair is something to try - also check to make sure you are not leaving weeks / months of old scheduled log in the system (settings can be changed in Autotrack).
Will need to check with the programme controller.

To compress / repair http://forums.broadcastradio.com/2728/Compress-Repair-a-Database-in-Myriad-v3

You also say that it is Myriad v3.6.3 - you really should upgrade to v3.6.6 which is the final release of v3 - or talk to us about the possibilities of upgrading to a newer version.

Is the data on a proper windows box rather than a NAS style storage?  I know NAS boxes aren't supported as they can cause the kind of problems described.

Are there any other problems apart from the pauses when searching?  As for compressing databases, I think you can do it using an option in autotrack, but it's been a while since I've used V3.

Hi Craig

No it is not on a NAS but file server.. Has been running fine for years without issue.

Will check out backup & compression options

We have an issue where the Myriad playout "Live" pauses for about 0.5s when searching for a new track. The data is stored on a server a pulled to the application on the network. We do not have any AV scans running nor tasks that would hog resources.
