Hi All.

Is there a way to lock adverts in the log? I want to stop presenters from dropping/deleting adverts when on air.

Thanks

Hi Valleys1,

I'm afraid to say no that doesn't exist.

It becomes a bit of a nightmare when you start putting in restrictions like that, does that mean you won't be allowed to turn the Log to standby during specific hours? Or you won't be allowed to play carts dragged in manually from the audiowall while adverts are playing?

Our theory is that the human being always has the last line of defence over what Myriad is used for, imagine if there was a serious breaking news story and the presenter was restricted from playing certain items, or worse couldn't stop (now) inappropriate audio from playing out. This could completely alter the way the station is seen to be handling that event.

This has to be a station governance issue. If you cannot trust your presenters to play the adverts, they shouldn't be anywhere near your studio, what else can't you trust them with? Also they should be aware that being in the studio is a privilege, which is only around (sometimes) because of the adverts.
