Hi

I'm wondering if it is possible to install Myriad 4 alongside Myriad 3 on the same machine?  We need to migrate our database and so would like to keep using v3 until the database is ready to be used by v4.

Thanks

Hi,
There's no huge problem running both side by side - though it's not recommended for long runs as people tend to get confused and accidentally run the wrong version!

The biggest issue is that although the AudioWall is shared between v3 and v4, you can't use any of the advanced features of the v4 AudioWall otherwise it's likely to confuse v3 - for example single list file per audio (which enables Intro Mid points and advanced commands etc.)

Also, ideally you should transition to using a SQL based Contacts and Users Directory, but this configuration is shared with v3, so if you do then you won't be able to load v3 as only the older v3 Enterprise product supported SQL Directories.

Finally (the lawyers make me say this!) there is a licensing issue - technically you are upgrading your v3 license to a v4 so you don't have both licenses - that said, as long as it's just during a short migration period then it's hardly going to be a problem Smile

So in summary, you can do it, but ideally you won't want to be in that situation for long, so try to pick a "switchover" date and keep that in mind as you are doing your migration.

Good luck!
