Note: This has now been upgraded to "Full Release" and is fully supported by the Technical Support team.

We have just released Myriad News v4.0.23 to match the release of the main Myriad suite of software.

This is a really big release for Myriad News, so please take the time to read the Update information that is next to the downloads.

If you are running any other Myriad family products on the same computer as Myriad News (such as Myriad Playout/AutoTrack etc.) then you will need to make sure they are all upgraded to v4.0.23 as well, as all products on the same computer must be the same release.New Feature highlights:
  • Bulletin Reader Improvements - The Bulletin Editor has had a lot of work to make it much more powerful, but also to make it easier to see where you are in a bulletin, and easier to correct any errors you make - for example playing the piece of audio early!
  • Bulletin Reader Highlit Story  - As you scroll through the Bulletin you will now see the "current" item is highlighted in a different shade - the highlight marker is shown as a small mark at the left hand side of the script. The Space bar now only ever plays the audio from the "highlit" item, meaning that you now cannot accidentally play the audio from the wrong story.
  • Bulletin Reader Running Order - On the right hand side of the Bulletin Reader, there is now a list of all stories in the bulletin as well as showing which have audio and which don't. You also get a "clock" at the bottom that shows you your progress through the bulletin.
  • Bulletin Reader Text Size - You can now zoom the text smaller or larger in the Bulletin Reader - ideal for making text larger when the News screen is set back in a studio. This setting is in Myriad News Program Settings.
  • Bulletin Recorder Progress - If you are recording bulletins, you will see a circular progress bar round the outside of the Running Order Clock that shows you how far along you are in the bulletin. If you are doing timed record, this is ideal for seeing if you are over or under your required time.
  • Bulletin Clock - A simple addition, but there is now a big clock on the Bulletin Reader so you can see the time! Clicking on this will start and stop a timer so you can see how long your read is taking as well.
  • Bulletin Manager - You can now prepare up to 9 bulletins at the same time - ideal for working in a busy News Hub.
  • Bulletin Editor Amendments - You can now 'tweak' the text of the stories from within the Bulletin Editor. These changes are saved for the life of the bulletin rather than being permanently stored in the story, so that you can make changes that are just for this read of the story.
  • Story List Improvements - You can now resize the Preview pane to show more or less of the information for each story.
  • Story List Performance Improvements - The Story list now updates itself much faster - between 6 and 10 times faster on some large databases!
There are dozens of other changes so please do read the updates before downloading and installing this new release.

Hi All,

We've just uploaded a new installer for Myriad News and News Capture v4.0.23 that fixes a couple of issues that appeared in this release - namely a problem with recording after closing the bulletin reader, but also some changes to the zoom feature and a few other issues. If you've already installed the older release you will need to uninstall it before you can install the updated v4.0.23 in it's place. If you haven't already upgraded to v4.0.23 then you can just install over the top of prior versions.

Hi All,

We've just released an updated v4.0.23 of both Myriad News and News Capture that fixes a problem with the FTP upload of stories not working.

If you've already installed the older release you will need to uninstall it before you can install the updated v4.0.23 in it's place. If you haven't already upgraded to v4.0.23 then you can just install over the top of prior versions.
