Hello,

Is it possible to have two different versions of Myriad installed on the same computer?

For example, a version of 3.6 and a version of 4.0.

Thanks
Simon

Hi Simon,

You can - but it's not recommended (and can cause problems in some cases with mismatched DLL's etc.)

The main reasons are user confusion and backwards compatibility. A common scenario is where a user goes into the "old" version of Myriad or AutoTrack and makes changes to a log or the database etc. - because v4 uses different databases these changes are then not seen elsewhere and the users get frustrated.

Another common one is if you use any of the v4 specific features - for example Individual List Files for carts to allow Intro Mid points/extra commands etc. then these aren't compatible with v3 and will get overwritten if someone uses the v3 to edit the cart.

But the biggy is usually licensing - If you have bought an "upgrade" of v3 to v4 then you have surrendered the old v3 license so you MUST uninstall all old versions when you complete your migration to v4 Smile
