Hi All,

Am after advice if you have ever come across a Software RAID.

I am trying to help Radio Scilly get back to normal after buying a machine with a software Intel Rapid Storage Technology Raid Array.

It is configured as RAID1 as array_0000 and Volume0. Intel seem to think I should be able to reset the disks to non raid without losing data. I am just wondering if amongst you you have any tips for doing this.

My plan is:-

During boot up press Ctrl + i to enter the raid config and select the option 'reset disks to non raid' and select both disks and select ok.

During reboot press the delete key to enter the bios and go to Advanced - Sata Mode and change from Raid to AHCI. Check the boot order of the disks.

Reboot again and hopefully be up and running again - uninstall the IRST software.

Does anyone have any advice apart from backup before doing it?

ta - M
