Just getting to grips with the new system - can anyone advise on how you can link twitter accounts so you can publish tweets through News?

Cheers!

If you open a Story Window there is a Twitter icon on the toolbar.

If you click this the Twitter window will open - it will authenticate on Twitter with the previously saved credentials.

If this is the first time you have used this feature, the "Myriad News Twitter Publisher" window should read "Authorising..." and then "Authenticating..." and a window should open to the Twitter login page.  Once you log in there you should see a 7 digit PIN number - you need to enter this into that same window ("Twitter Authentication") and click OK.

The credentials should now be saved, and the "Myriad News Twitter Publisher" window should read "Authenticated" at the bottom left.

And you should be "good to go".

Hi John, thanks for your reply.

I've had a look and can't find the twitter icon in the toolbar. We haven't properly set up the system yet so maybe it will appear once capture etc is installed?

You need to enable it.

Go to the Settings menu, then "News Database Settings", then on the "Web (OCP)" tab, click the "RSS Feed / Twitter" tab.

There is a setting there to turn it on or off, and some other settings.

Slowly getting there...it now says I need to download v.4 of the .NET Framework - any idea what this is/where I can get it?

Sorry to be a pain!

No problem, you can download it from here -

http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=17851

This is the runtime required for running Microsoft.NET applications - which Myriad News uses.

Let us know your twitter handle - we're really looking forward to seeing the uses that people put the new features to!

@imaginefmstudio is the handle we tweet news from along with other things for the station - the twitter feature's been the one I've been quite looking forward to using as it genuinely makes things so much easier to manage!
