Hi Guys

We have been offered a brand new Tascam SSR100 for our station as part of our station refurb for recording our output (currently still on vcr!)

Has anyone used this type of recorder? Is it reliable/good?

Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mel,

Looks like a nice unit and you could add a USB hard drive onto it to record onto. Couldn't instantly see a way of programming it to record at certain times so I guess you start it off and it just records constantly. You will need to manage the space on the drive as I guess it will stop when it runs out of space.

We use a PC and some software called 'TotalRecorder' to save to a computer drive which we then run a system called HFS which gives us an external webpage which enables members to access their recordings and download them for listenning back to at home.

We use a PC with a piece of Software called SpyCorder by Jazler.

It only records to WMA files, but it breaks it up into hour long recordings, and keeps them for a number of days as determined by you.

As an additional, I've shared the drive it records to as read only on our network, so that presenters can take a copy of their shows onto memory stick on one of the PCs they do have access to, so they can review it themselves, without being able to delete them permanently from the system.

I hope that helps.
