I'm experiencing slow connection between the two computers - how did you solve this?

The best idea is to create a network share on the folder where all your Myriad data is stored. This is the folder where your Audiowall, database etc folders.

Here is a link to instructions on how to do this: http://www.liberiangeek.net/2010/08/create-shares-windows-xp-vista-windows-7/

We for example have a folder called P-Squared, this is shared from our Myriad server. In this folder is the Audiowall locations, Schedule for the database etc.

You then create a network drive on your 'studio 2' PC, make sure you check the box for Reconnect At Logon. You then would point Myriad to the audiowall folders and data directory etc on your network drive and Myriad will happily read the data on the studio 1 PC.

Few things to note though, you need to make sure you have enough network bandwidth and also good hard drives that can handle the data read/write threads. The last thing you want is for your Myriad system to go down because your studio 2 workstation is being used. Also check your Windows permissions to make sure that both PCs will be able to access eachother

We started with the Myriad data hosted on your studio 1 playout PC but we found that data access was slow on network PCs even with a gigabit backbone.

Hi

We're currently in the process of building a new studio.

We already have one main PC running Myriad, however we have now got another and we're hoping to use this as our "studio 2 PC" if you like.

Now obviosuly the Audiowall location etc is all saved to the C hard drive of the PC we already have. How would we go about making the second PC mirror the main one Myriad wise??

Both PCs would be in the same room (about 50 yards away from each other)

Would a 'network drive' have to be created??

Any help you could give us with this would be brill.
