Has anyone had any experience with the ESI range of soundcards?

In particular would anyone know if either or both of these cards would work with Myriad:

Thank you for any help you can offer.

I have been looking at these products too, but can't find much technical information about them.

Just had a reply from ESI technical support. It appears the Gigaport HD is not compatible as it only appears in Windows as one sound device, which means only certain software like Cubase and Audition can take advantage of it's multiple outputs.

This is the email:

Dear Simon.
Thank you for your interest in the Gigaport HD.
Sorry but I am not fully familiar with Miriad software.
However.
As far as I am aware P Squared have tried/tested the Gigaport HD with Myriad.
And P Squared found the Gigaport HD was  not suited  for use with their  Myriad application.
I would suggest you contact P Squared .

Subject: Gigaport HD

Hi,

I'm looking for a USB sound device that will be compatible with the playout system we use at our radio station (P Squared's Myriad).

In order for it to be compatible with Myriad (with each player appearing on a seperate fader on our mixer), it must appear in Windows as four seperate audio devices rather than one.

For example, when choosing your default audio device in Windows, do you just get a GIGAPORT HD option in the dropdown menu, or do you get several options like GIGAPORT HD 1/2, GIGAPORT HD 3/4, GIGAPORT HD 5/6 and GIGAPORT HD 7/8.

I'd need it to appear as seperate outputs in order to assign each player it's own output rather than sharing one.

Thanks for your time.

Simon,

we did indeed have high hopes for the ESI range, but sadly as their own technical support has confirmed they don't present to Windows as individual Outputs, so they are currently unsuitable for use with Myriad.
