This refers to Myriad 2.637 or 38 not sure which one but when you fire up myriad this message occurs

Smoothstream.

invalid wavedevicemumber:1 max=0

Click OK and alls well. Myriad performs perfectly with no issues.  Just wondering what this message could be about.

I have had this message, it happens when the sound card is unplugged.
I also had it once when the sound card had come slightly lose from the pc slot.
I would remove your sound card, clean both the clot and the card and replace it.

Let us know if this fixes it.

Thanks for that.  Tried it and no different.  However, I did notice an automatic windows update recently and decided to restore windows XP back to a date just before that and everything now works fine.

As nothing had been installed since for a while and the only thing there was an update I rolled it back and hey, it now works perfect. Dont know why a windows update would cause the problem unless it was a corrupted download.

Hi,

I had this happen to me a year or so back with a newsroom system...not Psquared but it gave me the blue screen of death on my system... Rolling back before the windows update fixed the problem. In my case it was a windows media update that caused my problem. It didnt like working with the echo soundcard I had in the system.
