What would be the best way, please, of identifying and subsequently deleting duplicate song in the database?

i.e. duplicate files of the same song.

Simplest way is:

In Autotrack, to do a search for songs and sort by title. You can then listen to 2 with similar / same titles to make sure they are not different mixes - choose your best recording. then you can choose to delete the song card.

If you want you can go into Settings>Database Settings>More Settings>Carts/Hard Disk items and put a tick in the box for deleting the audio as well as the song card.

You'll then want to go into the "Autotrack Information Browser" from the songs menu and check all your spellings of artists are consistent, move any errant song cards onto the right spelling and then delete all the incorrect artist names from the database.

You mean just look down the list and spot the duplicates?

OK.

Another: Is there an easy way of moving all contents in Artist 3 to Artist 2 fields?

Cheers m'dear.

Andy.

Basically - yes that's the simplest way.

On the second one, is this just on the audiowall or on the songcard?

If they are listed correctly in AT you can use the:
Myriad Audiowall Update Utility to write the titles and artists back to the Audiowall - WARNING - Unless you have taken a backup, this is a one shot procedure - which is why it is critical to make sure the data is correct in Autotrack.

No, on the songcards in ATP.

Cheers,

Andy.
