Hi

Is there any easy way for Myriad to delete files on a Set date?

It would be really handy for kill dates for generic links?

Any ideas of any software that can provide this function if Myriad can't would be gratefully received.

It would be good to know if there is some gadget or app that will delete a file once played once-even better if it could be deleted after a set number of plays.

Lastly, is there a way that you can see when a Myriad file has been played. I know the scheduler can see when links have played but I want to know how many times a recording on a scheduled cart has gone out.

It would help immensely in our rotating automation links. I basically want to rotate audio links 3 x before they get removed so I know to refresh the audio.

Similarly, a "delete voice-track carts after they've been played" button would be useful... the current "search for all carts in the range...highlight the ones where tx date is in the past... delete...confirm... yes I'm sure.... yes I'm sure I'm sure... procedure is a bit tedious.

Hi all,

every time in the past when we've asked stations if they'd like an "Auto Delete" function with voice links the answer has come back as a strong NO. They don't want the danger of the system deleting the wrong voice links.

We already use similar technology in Scoop to "Auto Delete" the IRN/INN/SKY capture range.

Bruce, In Myriad Manager you can run an audio report on your VT range, sort by scheduled date and then do a mass delete - yes there are 5 message boxes, so you have a good think about the audio you are deleting.

Hi David,

I appreciate what you're saying - that's exactly the method we use to delete voice links at present - but it's always a little bit worrying that you have to craft your own query, then select and delete (and confirm, and confirm, and.. BigGrin )

Surely having a pre-written function to do that select, and then the same number of "are you sure"s must be less error-prone than manually doing a query...

Bruce.

Keri,

sadly there is no current methodology to do this at the current time.

Deleting files directly from the Myriad file store using an external application is dangerous, as it wont be able to remove the details from the cart list files and your audiowall will have a bunch of cart headers and missing audio.

Swapping out the audio for new audio is possible, however because the cart lists are not updated the extro points stay the same and your new link is cut off before the end.

We are looking to improve the handling of "generic Links" inside a future version of Autotrack, so if you want to email in your "wish" list we can have a look.

Bruce,

crafting your own query means that a human has had to look and check before agreeing to delete. The Auto delete of VT links is something that we may look at again if there is a more favorable response.

In regard to kill dates for generic links. Don't forget you can use the 'do not schedule after x date' for the card or you could do a mass change for those voicelinks talking about christmas etc.
