Just as a follow to up to Chris' problem with Hook marks not being imported correctly, this is becuase Myriad will only import the Hook Marks if the CartChunk 'ProducerAppID' field contains the string "P Squared".





This is a safety measure so that we only use hook Marks from wavs that we know have been encoded correctly.



Becuase the Cart Chunk spec doesn't define a Mark Type for Hooks, we had to arbitrarily choose one so it's likely that another application could have used it for another purpose so may not be valid.



Therefore to fool Myriad into accepting the Hook Marks, you would need to make sure to include P Squared in the ProducerAppID and this will bypass the checker allowing you to import the hook timing.



I'm not sure if Audition will let you do that, but thought you would like to know for info purposes.

Unfortunately it doesn't have the info section at the top so you can't enter all those details. We couldn't leave it in because it causes problems with some of the extra info like pictures, DAB notes etc. which aren't stored in the WAV file.

We are hoping to resolve this in the future though, so there may well be a version that allows you to edit all the details separately at some point.

Quite a neat solution with Audition though: If you can email us over a sample file that the hooks don't import from (before you Myriad 'sees' it which will update the Cart Chunk info) then we can have a look and see why they are missing.

Assuming that the standalone Smooth Edit interface is identical to that bundled in with Myriad, surely if you use it for marking up the artist, title, description, cart colours, intro, extro, hooks & end type only and save it as a MYR0XXXX.wav file somewhere, it should carry the data since it is stored in the cartchunk of the wav?

I say this as we (remotely) presently add everything in Audition in the Cart Description window and push it across to the server, run a custom Myriad Manager report to detect changes to the audiowall, and presto it'll all there (notwithstanding hooks don't always pick up properly)

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, the stand alone version of the Smooth Edit software (Or Edit Stuff as it is now called) can not set the timing marks for import back into Myriad or create transport files, as it does not recognise all of the additional files that contain the extra information that Myriad uses for image and text data.

Can't find any information about this on the site and was wondering if the standalone smooth edit can create transport files for myriad?

Basically, it would be nice to add markers, text, hooks etc remotely and then just send a transport zip to the studio machine - which can then be easily added to the audiowall.
