I know this is a basic question, however, I have just replaced an old CD-RW with a new one - a pioneer DVDR 111D, according to the box it reads/burns at different speeds as they all do.

Here is the problem according to the pioneer website you can't control the ripp speed on this drive it is automatic in the hardware, built in.  I have flashed the drive with the lastest firmware and still no choise in ripping speeds.  The ripp speed in myriad has no effect and neither does Nero Drive Speed with this drive.

Ripping across a network from CD at 40x is a bit much and audio is best ripped at a slower speed incase of damaged discs.

So an answer i'm looking for is what new makes or models of recorders has myriad been tested on for ripping at different speeds?

LG..ect....LiteOn....

Many thanks.
