You could install on a single drive and then mirror it later but it would save you considerable time if you can mirror at the start. So buy yourself the second 200GB drive if you can.

Either way take out the 70GB mirror and install your new drive(s) in its place.

You can then install Windows and during this process partition the new drive to give you a 10GB Windows partition and the rest for data.

Once Windows installation is complete you can plug one of the 70GB drives into the motherboard and it will appear in Windows. The existing drives will be contected to RAID expansion card. This means that most of the ports on the motherboard will be available. Simply copy your Myriad data to the new drive. Once you're happy that you have everything remove the 70GB drive and do what you like to it.

Another option, if you don't fancy re-installing Windows would to use a program like Norton Ghost to create an image of the C: drive from the 70GB drives and then copy it onto the new 200GB drives. Since none of the other hardware is changing this should work fine.

i'm a bit of a novice at this game but our student station has a problem;

Since our 70GB audio server simply doesn't give us enough space any more, i've aquired a new 200GB HDD.....however neglected to notice there are 2 70GB units on a RAID system. i know its pretty risky running only one HDD but is there a quick fix where by i could install the new HDD for the time being and then add another at a later date (as a clone)?

i'll also need a tool to copy the files across to the drive, without the risk of loss

any ideas?

(thought i'd post here before giving tech support a call in the morning)

thanks in advance
