As part of the IRN Net NewsRoom project which is due out in Febuary, IRN are increasing the number of story categories.

To match this we are modifying Scoop v3 to increase the available category slots to 64 from 32 to give you some spare headroom. This update will be available in early 2005.

Unfortunately, due to the limitations of the older database structures we will not be able to make this alteration to Scoop v1 or v2.

IRN are also making changes to the way which news is delivered on their website which also means we will be able to add a few new features for users with decent web connections which should make life a lot easier for day to day newsroom management as well.

We're working very closely with IRN on this project and as more details are available we'll post them here.
