Hi,

We're having problems with Advert Manager at Penistone FM, As the title says our system is failing to schedule the correct amount of commercials in a 24 hour period,

Eg The majority of our clients pay for 10 plays per day, At the moment Ad manager is fluctuating between 7 and 10 plays per day, We're getting complaints from our clients as you would expect, Everything is set up correctly and can see no reason why this is happening,

Have any of you had this issue at your station and if so what did you do to sort it?

Thanks in advance!

Gareth

Hi Gareth,

The usual reason for this is due to Collisions preventing adverts from being placed into breaks due to other ones in the breaks already. Are you using Hard Collisions? If so then try switching to Soft Collisions instead which will then allow these placements to happen but only if they can't be put elsewhere.

Hi, I don't think we are using any collisions at present although I will check.

Thanks for your quick reply, I will check our system and get back to you.

Hi,

I've checked our system and besides two commercials for restaurants no other ads have any collisions set,

As a temporary measure we've upped the amount that schedule from 10 - 15 but if there's any fix anybody knows of that would be great to know!

In that case if you tick the box during scheduling to do diagnostic logging then you will get a (VERY!) long diagnostic printout after scheduling, it will take some going through, but you should be able to see in there why ads are being rejected.

Incidentally it's also worth checking to make sure that if some of the Adverts are by the same "Contact" that you have changed the option to allow adverts by the same contact to be scheduled in the same break.
