What would be the recommended way to set up Myriad V4, ie, should we run the database on a separate machine to anything else, where should the audiowall go etc.and  how can we overcome the problem of having to shut Myriad on all our machines when running windows 7 updates?  At present we run the database on the auto machine and the audio wall on an admin machine.  The sudio playout machine therefore has to see both of these to run. We have a full 1G Gigabyte network between all computers.

Hi,

the reccomended way is to have all the data in the same place (Audiowall & Databases), but make a backup of these periodically (these can be scheduled to happen nightly). You can then switch Myriad (using Multiple profiles) to a "backup" set of data, while you perform the updates on your "server" machine.
Ideally have the same storage space on a studio playout PC, so you can run locally in the event of a problem with either server phisically or network connectivity.
Some people also use this method to take off-site backups of data as an added level of safety.

Many thanks David, think we will have to look at changing some locations around!
