Hi All,
Just a very quick one today - we're please to announce that we now fully support using Windows Server 2012 and 2012R2 to store Myriad v4 data files - e.g. the AudioWall etc.
We also now support using Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (Express, Standard and higher editions) to store databases on.
We have updated our OS Support and Network Requirements to reflect this.
Please note: You should still only use Windows Server operating systems to host files and databases - you should avoid installing Myriad v4 actually on Windows Server 2012 as this is not supported and not particularly tested! We do know many users do run back-office Myriad tools like the AutoImporter, OCP etc. on Server operating systems, and if it's working then great, but ideally you should be running them on a workstation operating system such as Windows 7.
One final other note: You shouldn't run "older" versions of SQL Server on "newer" Operating Systems - so you shouldn't install SQL Server 2008 or 2008R2 on Windows Server 2012/R2.
Always try to keep both editions the same - so SQL2008 or Windows Server 2008, SQL2012 on Windows Server 2012.
As far as we know running SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2008/R2 should be fine, but we haven't tested it, and don't know of any "real-world" sitations where any others have, so best stick with 2008 on 2008 and 2012 on 2012!
Any questions please ask.
Thanks,
