Hello every one ,

recently upgraded to myriad 3.6 everything running perfectly , except that when recording using myriad it seams to crash every single show and the presenters loose there show ,  presenters podcast there shows on itunes but this is not possible at the moment because myriad is crashing every single time , and there recording is lost ,

there is a show where he does not use myriad as its just a chat show , but the recordings still crash

it tends to crash around 1 hour 36 of recording.

the machine has 3 gig ram in , so ram should not be a problem

if any of you know whats going on please let me know / give me any tips asap

many thanks

Matty,

if i'm reading this correctly, the specific problem is crashing while recording, even if nothing else is going on??!!? - so he's a couple of thoughts (in order of importance):

1) Check the recording format (Myriad Global Audiowall settings), the best option is to use Linear PCM WAV (44.100 16bit) - you can always convert this down to mp3 using the Podcast Creator tool at time of upload.

2) which hard drive is the audio wall on? if it's a network location, is there an intermittant problem with the data getting to that drive?

2a) We DO NOT reccomend the use of a NAS device to store files, we have seen pretty bad response times and problems from various devices, our reccomendation would always be HDD's inside a computer with an Operating System (ideally a Server OS).

3) Do you have Myriad set to record files locally then transfer over the network? Do you have enough free drive space on the local PC? If you have a C:\ and a D:\ partition - do you have enough free space on the C drive for Windows to use as it cache?

4) try configuring a local audiowall on that pc's HDD and see if this solves it, (if it does, then it indicates a problem with the network, or the storage PC at the other end).

5) Check all POWER Saving settings in windows, to make sure that the PC is not going into hibernation, especially if no one is interacting with it - particular ones to check are the Network cards (you can do this thru the properties on device manager).

Let us know how you get on.
