Hi Paul,

At the top of the Play Logs Report you should see a small Disk icon with CSV on it - if you click this it will export the report to a text file that can then be imported by viewed by notepad or even opened directly in any Spreadsheet (i.e. Excel) so you can format it the way you need it

Thanks, I'll try this later .;-)

This only exports the data, well half of it into a cartpad..
I'd really like to copy it into a notepad,
I can click the save as a reconciliation file at the bottom and it saves but where too and in what format ??

Will have another look later. Thanks for the tips so far !!

Good Idea Glen !
Its difficult to get word docs copied from Myriad etc on pc's that are for playout onlt as they don't have any other software on,
but in this instance I think I need to make an exception.

Have we got any closer to ad manger being told/forced to play on a certain amount of ads per ad slot or even per hour ??

I'm still getting some bunching of ads, 15 ads per hour at 9am and 3 ads per hour later in the day,
if we had a simple button to calculate how many ad slots we have allocated, we could then say X amount per hour
Could be the answer to ad managers little niggle, apart from this it's very nearly there.

I'd also like to be able to force a certain ad to be the end advert.

is any of the above possible in a future update ?

Good call Paul!

I am finding that im also getting 6 ads in 1 break in the hour and 1 or 2 in the 2nd hour break.

I would like an option to force a break to a max length? ie set to max 2 mins per ad break. This would also mean that ads upto the news could be more accurately scheduled if the break was a set length.

Also we have a 'Newslink' ad which goes out after the news. At the moment I have to have it hard coded into every clock.

Can we have the option to set an ad to a specific time break or have a "Set timed break set" to allow say a particualr ad to only be scheduled at xx:02:00 break????

*Bump* any extra help on this would be appreciated.

Force a maximum number of ads per hour would be great !

I would have to put my vote for this also.

Hi All,

It is something that we definitely have in the "Future Features" list, but at the moment we don't have any timescales for when it might be included or what version number etc. Now that the main work on v3.6 is done (and released obviously!) we've got a big list of jobs to carry out to make sure other products get some long needed updates as well.

Hi Peter

Could we at least in the interim have some additional collision catagories as 6 is not really enough.

Also could some simple rules could be built into Advert Manager. to help with the spreading out of the adverts.

ie. Break Settings

Max number of ads allowed per break
Max Duration allowed per break

I rename our hard collisions to suit and utilise the soft collisions too
Ideally 12 would be good, the more the merrier really.
By glenmitch - Wednesday, August 10, 2011 7:09:52 PM

Also what about a filler catagory that if an ad break is left empty that it gets filled by at least 1 filler ad?
By paulmoore - Thursday, July 21, 2011 7:59:08 PM

Glen, when we hav a newslink advert I mix this into the news jingle and adjust my absolute time to suit, our newslink always comes before the news, not after like yours.
i suppose youre doing it the same way realy, its just my way its only 1 entry in the clock.

Is there any update on this possibly for 3.6.3 ?

We really do need a simple way of forcing no more than x amount of adverts into each break.

I currently have enough customers to fill 2 advert breaks per hour with 3 adverts in each break,
but I'm stil getting the odd break that has 2 ads in and other breaks that have 6 or more in.

This would help a lot if anything can be done to improve the scheduling method.

I echo Pauls request, this would make it so much easier to use!
By paulmoore - Friday, May 20, 2011 2:10:32 PM

is there a simple way to find/print out a list of 1 specific adverts plays times ?
I have a client that would like a list of when the advert is due to be aired.

I've never looked into this before, but am sure there must be a way to save the scheduled log of adverts ??
can anyone help.?

print screen?
By paulmoore - Tuesday, May 24, 2011 8:55:57 AM

I tried print screen, but I would need a few print screens, I need to print a list of when a certain cart was played throught one month,
its been played 157 times, I can find the info but would have to print screen a few times. any more ideas?
Plus the PC that autotrak is on doesnt have any software to show a print screen image.

there has to be an easy way, maybe the new beta advert manager has fixed the problem of not being able to create a notepad file?
we'll see !!
By paulmoore - Tuesday, May 24, 2011 11:40:15 AM

Managed to get the advert saved as a CSv file which opens in word, but only ad by ad, rather than in one bulk block in AT,
at least its something !!
By Peter Jarrett - Tuesday, May 24, 2011 2:50:09 PM

Hi Paul,

When you run the Cart report it should show you all the entries you want, if you then Shift-Click to select all the lines you want to export and hit the CSV button it will prompt you for where to save the file.

It only exports the 'selected' lines, so by default it only exports the one the highlight is on, so when you select them all it will export them all instead.
By paulmoore - Wednesday, August 10, 2011 8:12:27 PM

Great Idea, you could then put your sales advert in this category !!
By glenmitch - Thursday, May 26, 2011 10:11:36 PM

Hi Paul. Another solution would be a pdf printer. I had a play with advert play logs yesterday. SImply install software like cute pdf and highlight the lines you want to save then hit print  select pdf printer it will then allow you to save as a pdf file you can email to client.
By paulmoore - Monday, August 1, 2011 8:04:26 PM

Hi Peter, we all understand that you are very busy and appreciate any extra work you can add into the advert manager,
I'm sure a majority of us use it as its so simple to navigate around, we only need a few tweaks until we/you have a good ad manager !!
By Peter Jarrett - Tuesday, August 2, 2011 10:47:04 AM

Smile
By erewashsound - Tuesday, August 2, 2011 1:45:12 PM

It would be fantastic if it could be included. We are having to work out plays manually using Excel then putting them into Ad Manager!
By paulmoore - Tuesday, August 2, 2011 8:15:32 PM

Thats the long way around Dan at Erewash, just set it to auto and then pick out the few etxras and shift them, saves you hours of work !!

Thats what we do;-)
