Hi Paul,
Re Driver was that the Beta 6.0.5 I linked to or the 5.10.00.0029 version Glen talked about?

Glen sent me a bassenhancement file, which was no use and the updated beta driver on here doesnt work at all, It loads but doesnt load any sound mixer, myriad just errors as it cant find any sound cards. SO we still have cracking recordings occasionally ! very annoying.

I thought id sent you the right file. I will have a look through my emails & send the correct XP driver. I will also copy in support so they have a working driver, as I know it does work.

Would be too much trouble to find those details as it happens on ALL 3 studios, I doubt that info would help you, its a fault with the driver not with the myriad software

Does anyone else ever get a crackle when they record using VT/Segedit ? we get it on all 3 studios, not all the time, usually the first link, to fix it we shut down myriad completely and restart then its usually fine. it's a strange crackle alomst like the voice is being clipped when recorded.
3 identical desks, pc's mics and studios ! so it cant be a problem with all 3 the same with the equipment, it has to be a software bug in myriad OR we do have a bug in our equipment ! we are using delta 10/10 rack mounted for all 3 studios.
look forward to hearing if anyone else suffers this ever ?

The drivers on this site are the ones we installed. Ive been doing some reading around on the M-Audio issues & it is across the board and range of products. It seems it might not like duo core processor or advanced features in bios switched on by default.

I have some old delta discs in the rack room , I'll find them and see what driver version they have, if its older than the current one then we can all have a copy.

Hi all,
As I wrote on my post March 18th you need to make sure you turn off EIST.
I suggest you double check your BIOS when you can re disabling CPU EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology) as if this is enabled you will get loads of issues
If you leave this turned on with an Intel setup you WILL get crackling noise!

Our EIST is turned off, I double checked, its definetly a souns card driver error. we will get it fixed eventually !

How do I diagnose the cause of pops and clicks?
THE FOLLOWING IS FROM THE GUYS AT ECHO DIGITAL AUDIO
If you are experiencing pops and clicks in your audio, there are a number of things that you can try:
1. Install DPC latency checker. If you are experiencing, pops, clicks, and dropouts, this is the first step to take. Download this free utility and read the documentation carefully. After you run the utility, you may need to disable wireless, webcams, network cards, etc.
2. In Windows, go to System properties>Advanced>Performance and set to "Adjust to Best Performance."
3. If running FireWire from a laptop, you may need to purchase a third-party FireWire adapter. Some built-in FireWire chips do not perform well. If you are running more than one AudioFire, you may need to purchase an additional FireWire adapter.
4. Run the ASIO FireWire Analyzer (if you have an AudioFire product). It comes with every driver. Make sure you download the Readme as well as this contains the documentation for this utility.
5. Your buffer size may be too small or too high. Recommendations:
44.1K or 48K sample rate: buffer 128 <-> 256
88.2K or 96K sample rate: buffer 256 <-> 480
176.4K or 192K sample rate: buffer 512 <-> 960
6. Make sure your software and OS have the latest updates. Check for BIOS updates as well.
7. Trim your system down to the bare essentials. Initially, work with only one device. Do not add additional devices until your first device is running smoothly. Do not run any plugins. Add plugins only after everything else is running correctly.

Hi guys
BAD NEWS! We did our myriad install last week and the drivers that we were using that cured the crackeling are not compatible with myriad. The drivers give no control over volume on each deck & the fades would just stop when next was pressed, even with independant setting on the delta control panel. I have replaced with the latest drivers on the psqaured website & they cured the fade problem. So our previous drivers that cured the problem of the crackle will be of no use now.
