Hi Paul,
RVT Client uses the default Recording device in Windows - if you go intro Control Panel and just check that the correct input on your soundcard is selected and give it another go.

I'm presuming that's on the Studio machine and not on the remote machine. will check it shortly.

Hi Paul,
You need to check it on the machine actually running the Remote Voice Tracking software - usually the remote users laptop/desktop etc. as thats where the mic will be plugged in?

Hi Paul
With regards to AutoTrack and Myriad Manager users, they should talk to each other. Can you login to Myriad Manager using the same login for AutoTrack? It sounds as if you have two P-Squared directories somewhere. We can setup users at Erewash Sound in nearly any of the apps, even Advert Manager.
They should all use the same P-Squared Directory.
With regards to the suggest button, this would be useful as even though search has got faster in the 3.5 generation of RVT, it is still slow to search for tracks on RVT. Surely it wouldn't be too much of an issue as the song database is held in the database that RVT opens to bring the log up.

I agree with the post stating that the two pieces of software should talk to one antoher, we've certainly not had any isues at Wayland, although I do think you have to authoorise the user for use in the Manager.
You second point Paul is vaild about finding tunes and tracks, however, if you have Autotracks selecting the music on roatation why would the presenter need to change any more than one or two tracks? RVT is design to be just that for voice track, if you've tried to pick a tune from the cart tab you'll know just how slow it can be to deliver the data over broadband at an average speed of 2MB. It's painful enough at 7Mb which I have at home. RVT realy come inot its own when you need programme cover and the stand-in can VT.
Roger.

As far as I am aware we only have 1 directory, If I create a new user in Autotrak which I do, Myriad manager see's it. all me users appear in both and I have neevr ever opened myriad manager in 2 yrs ! not until now, because I couldnt get anyone onto RVT, I ticked the option to allow remtoe acces in myriad managers users and it worked, look in autotrak users and the tick isnt there. but it works so thats ok.
But there must be a bug that these 2 programmes dont talk to each other. Mayeb eveeryone should try to make a small change in a users permissions in autrtrak, then opne them in manager and see if they havent changed in there. as for the sugestion button, I agree, most users shouldnt need to change many tunes, but to allow them to put a little person feel to their shows would be helpful, via the suggest tab.
And I can add users in any of the programmes, even advert manager, BUT myriad manager is the only programme that gives users acces to RVT, not a huge problem as I only have 3 RVT users, everyone else comes to the studios;-)
on another topic has anyone got any ideas about my font size posting ??

Another query on RVT, I've found that you have to use Myriad Manager to allow users access as allowing them acces via their contact/user info in Autotrak doesn't work.. which is weird, I thought these 2 programmes would talk to each other. I never use myriad manager ever, but will do now for RVT use !! Also, why is there no suggest button on RVT. Defeats the object of the remote presenter if he cant fine tune the tracks, of course theres a way round it by openiong the cart tab, but if you dont know what number the songs are it doesnt help much. So the presenter then comes to the studio to plan his show and well, may aswell VT while he's there ! any plans to add the suggest button ? OR is it there but I havent ticked a box somewhere maybe ?
Thanks!

Hi, need some advice on the remote vt module.
Seems to connect as during the startup routine the players etc start to load but the connection is refused on the remote side (my end).
The server logs show connection established.
At the remote the user gets connection refused, another user is connected (when no one else is using the system).
Windows dialog box pops up for error reporting as the applicatio has encountered an error.
Any thoughts?
Remote is using XP Home SP3. Any firewall settings to change for instance?
Kind Regards Tony
