using a network shared drive for audiowall and sustain

Hi there

We're running our sustain service on one PC and run the audiowall on another PC connecting to the audio directory on the sustain PC. We run our sustain 24/7 even when someone is doing a live show, just in case someone doesn't turn up. When using both the audiowall and the sustain together we get the occasional crash. We're also running a 1G Lan

My concern is about simultaneous access to the MSaccess database from both the audiowall and the sustain.

Both PC's are fairly meaty and have plenty of RAM

Does this setup seem acceptable?

regards

Chris

Hi Chris,

As a general rule Software apps can't cause a RAID array to need rebuilding - certainly Myriad can't because it operatetes entirely above the hardware layer so only interacts with Windows, not with the drives themselves.

It sounds like you may have either a Raid controller/driver issue or possibly a failing hard disk.
