Unfortunately they have asked us to ensure that their website details are not placed on any forums we have control of - to make sure that any enquiries about their websites go direct to them - you will need to contact IRN direct I'm afraid...

Hi all,

We have been given some information about changes that IRN are making to the way stories are classified.

The Category codes that they will now be using are:

   Code      Category

   bul      bulletin
   pro      programme packages
   cty      city
   spt      sport
   par      parliament
   hil      highlights
   adv      advisory
   eng      engineering

You should note the addition of the new \"eng\" category. This is used by IRN to (we believe!) to send engineering notices, as well as twice hourly check sheets that contain a list of all the stories sent since the last sheet.

These will be sent at 20 past and 10 to each hour.

A further change is the removal of the old f and u priorities as only the n (or 'normal') priority will be used from now on.

This (i'm guessing!) ties up with the change from the old Obit alarm to the new Major Story alarm - for more info you will need to see IRN's engineering website.

If you don't make any changes to your Scoop Configuration however it will continue to work as normal, but the engineering notices will be routed to the miscellaneous category.

Any questions, please let us know
