It all depends on the actually location of the remote studios? Are they connected to the main network via a local network or via a internet connection?

At Corby Radio we use ViceVersa to mirror our main drive to our backup drive and to our NAS, the NAS is on the local network and it usually takes about 5 hours per night to sync (mainly because it checks the CRC for files that have changed at source).

If they other studios are on the same LAN, something like ViceVersa would work.

If they are connected via a standard internet connection, you may want to consider using a portable USB drive or similar to transfer the data as it will take an age over IP (especially if you are using WAV files).

Hello all!

I am a bit of a n00b at Myriad so please be patient with me! (we were all n00bs once!)

Our radio station has 3 licenses of Myriad on 3 PC's. One is called Broadcast. It contains the physical files and is networked to the other 2 on a LAN. One of these is 'Production' and contains the Myriad Manager and Auto track. The other is called 'playout' and is used when we are not live so that the Broadcast can do pre records.

All of this is working really well.

We are a youth station and do a lot of training courses at our other base on 2 p-squared portable studios.

So, my question is this. How can I get the training space computer synced up with the Broadcast computer so that the audiowall and playlists etc are synced?

I have been looking at whether Robocopy is the solution or some other VPN based solution. I dont need it to sync up so that it can play in real time. I want all the physical content mirrored and then updated maybe nightly.

any ideas out there?

thanks peeps!
