Database format not recognised error (repairing a database)
Before Repairing / Compressing a database, ALWAYS DO A BACKUP FIRST. It is better to have a backup of a damaged database that P Squared may be able to salvage than no database at all. TO backup a database, use Windows Explorer to locate the .MDB (database) file that you intend to Repair / Compress and copy it to an alternate location on your computer or another computer on your network.
Before you start you must quit Myriad on EVERY PC in the building. This is really important because if Myriad is still running on any of them it may do more harm then good.
Once you are sure that all the machines have quit Myriad (including all machines in the office, news room, studios etc) then run Myriad Configuration on one of the machines.
Click on the Database Utilities tab and then click on the Compress / Repair a Database button.
You will be warned that you need to quit Myriad on all machines, click on OK to continue.
Now you will see an explorer style box that allows you to find a file on your system. It should already be in the Myriad system folder (as it will get that information from Myriad) and you should see a number of folders - to check you are in the right place, one of them is called \"Schedule\".
Now we need to locate the database that we want to repair. In a default Myriad installation, each type of database used by Myriad is located in a different folder.
This list shows what databases are located where but you should bear in mind that you or anybody could have altered these locations at a previous date:

Default Folder: Schedule
Default File Name: QNXT26.mdb
Database: AutoTrack
Default Folder: Autotrck
Default File Name: Database.mdb
Database: Users
Default Folder: Users
Default File Name: Users25.mdb
Database: Adverts
Default Folder: Myriad\\system (not in it's own folder)
Default File Name: Clients.mdb or Adverts.mdb
Lets say that we want to repair the Q-NXT database. Double click on the Schedule folder and locate the Q-NXT database that you want to repair.
N.B. If you have used Myriad for a while, there may be several QNXT databases left from previous versions. You may also have multiple databases if you have more than one station using your Myriad system or if you have changed the station name in the past. In you are in doubt, quit the repair process and check which Q-NXT database you are currently using by clicking on the Q-NXT Settings button on the Local Settings tab. - The same may be true for any other databases that want to repair so always make sure that you are repairing the correct database before proceeding.
Highlight the database you want to repair (in the case testmusicq26.mdb) and click on the Open button.
The Repair / Compress function will automatically start BUT NO PROGRESS BAR WILL APPEAR ON SCREEN. Instead you may see the mouse cursor turn to an 'hour glass' and stay that way for several minutes. The repair / compact function can take some time (10 minutes is not unheard of) so even although it may appear as if the computer has 'hung' it is not likely to be the case so be patient.
Once the Repair / Compress process is completed, you will see a confirmation message box. Click on OK to return to Myriad Config.
All of the databases can be repaired and compacted in Myriad using the above method.
